RGN Registered General Nurse

Nurse!

You've probably heard this name fifty times today; by the end of it you'll have heard it fifty times more.

It can be overwhelming, between buzzers and phones that never seem to stop ringing, to remember what brought you here in the first place, what drove you to become a Nurse?

Most seem to be asking themselves now, was it worth it?

But if you happen across a rare moment of quiet contemplation please kindly remind yourself that there are very few people in the world who can do what you do.

It's a unique ability to care for a stranger, to be their strength when they have none, to be the kind hand that dries their tears and guides them through a difficult journey, to give them hope that things will get better.

To save a life with compassion and kindness without giving it a second thought because you're ‘just doing your job'.

You are the beating heart of our NHS; it would be nothing without you.

Perhaps today you needed to hear this?

Perhaps today it's been ‘one of those days' and that's okay.

You're human, contrary to popular belief! And it's understandable that you may be feeling this way.

It's no secret that the Nurses job role has changed dramatically over the past few years.

You have now been expected to do the work of five nurses while still barely being paid the wage of one.

Which is obviously going to take a toll on your mental/ physical health and yet you're still scrutinised if you take a day off sick, as though you're being punished for doing your best.

But this begs the question, while you're taking care of the world, who is taking care of you?

Here at HCL Nursing we know we could never do what you do so we'll do the next best thing.

We will support you; we will be there for you.

Need a break? No problem, we put you in control of your work schedule allowing you to have a better work/ life balance.

We understand you have a life outside of the hospital and are committed to ensuring your career with HCL Nursing fits your exact needs.

Nursing is a hard job which is why it pays to have someone in your corner that can carry the weight with you, to support you and take away some of the stress to allow you to fall in love with your job again.

If by now, you're still struggling to remember why you became a Nurse, allow me to shed some light.

The reason you became a Nurse is simply because, that is who you are.

You see the world and you want to make it a better place.

Becoming a nurse is one of the most selfless acts a person can undertake.

In a society of so many different races, cultures, customs, and beliefs, nurses are a universal gift to all, and the dedicated work that you do and the kindness you deliver on a daily basis should serve as a reminder of the fundamental humanity inside us all.

So the next time you hear Nurse! Echoing down the ward proudly stand up and say
