Deputy Ward Manager - for the Male adult ward
One of our client provides CAMHS Tier 4 Low Secure services for young people aged 13 – 18, Transitional services for young women aged 18 -25 with personality disorders and acute mental health services.
We are currently recruiting for a Deputy Ward Manager to work in highly reputable service .
Our Deputy Ward Manager role involves:
· To deputise for the ward manager when required
· To have an assertive and unrelenting focus on the performance of the nursing team and take definitive action when performance falls below acceptable levels
· To support the ward manager in ensuring the allocated ward achieves excellence across the full range of relevant quality and compliance criteria’s
· Effectively work with other members of the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) and Senior Management Team (SMT) to ensure effective care in delivery to patients and all members of staff are appropriately managed
· Promote and maintain a professional nursing environment, ensuring a high standard of nursing care at all times, assisting with evaluation through clinical governance and audit
· To assist the ward managers in coordinating the work of the nursing team including staff training, duty rotas and making adjustments to manage short term cover to manage emergencies
· To support the Ward Manager in the planning and implementation of service developments by developing a highly skilled and motivated nursing workforce through regular supervision, appraisals and probationary meetings
· Support and lead regular patient feedback mechanisms, e.g satisfaction surveys, community meetings as well as coordinating complaints and incident investigations and management cases

To be successful as a Registered Mental Health Nurse, you’ll need
First level registration
Professional training in a related environment
To organise and prioritise own workload
Problem solving skills
