Mobile Cleaning Operative

Our client is currently recruiting for a responsible, reliable and trustworthy Mobile Cleaning Operative. Travelling throughout the London and surrounding areas, you will be carrying out the cleaning of the Company’s property portfolio, which includes the communal areas of houses of multiple occupations and empty properties.

The role also involves conducting checks and reporting any issues to the management team.

A friendly and positive attitude is essential for this role.

Salary: £20,000-£21,000 per annum, depending on experience

Hours: Monday – Friday, 9am-5.30pm

Place of work: Travelling around London, Head Office in Stamford Hill, North London

Benefits: 28 days paid annual leave, work mileage expenses paid, vehicle provided after 3 months

The Mobile Cleaning Operative role involves:


  • Clean all specified communal areas within the time allocated and to the standard required
  • Clean void rooms when residents move out
  • Carry out daily, weekly and periodic cleaning tasks as required
  • Demonstrate full working knowledge of all cleaning equipment and materials
  • Display correct signage when cleaning is in progress and floors are wet
  • Use, handle, transport and store equipment correctly and safely at all time          
  • Be aware of material expenditure to avoid unnecessary waste 
  • Maintain any records as requested by the Head of Operations 
  • Report any issues including bulk waste, damages, and dangerous or faulty equipment to the Head of Operations
  • Wear appropriate protective clothing as required
  • Observe fire and health & safety procedures and regulations and demonstrate and promote good safe working habits
  • Use appropriate lifting, carrying and transporting techniques for heavy or difficult items
  • Any other duties not specified above, which are consistent with this level and nature of position

Role requirements:


  • Cleaning experience 
  • A valid driving licence
  • Initially own vehicle required, vehicle can be provided after 3 months of starting
  • Good understanding of health and safety procedures in regards to cleaning 
  • Able to use own initiative and demonstrate a common sense approach to duties
  • Good spoken English  
  • Organised and efficient, able to multi-task with strong time-management skills
  • Able to develop professional relationships with a wide range of people inside and outside the company
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
  • Flexible approach to duties with a willingness to undertake training and take on new tasks 
  • Possess the knowledge and ability to work within an equal opportunity framework and develop an awareness within the staff team of anti-discrimination practice
