Our client is a non-profit membership organisation which works with its members and partners to build and share knowledge on hydropower’s role in renewable energy systems, responsible freshwater management and climate change solutions.

They are seeking a Digital Content Executive to join their team based in Sutton to play a leading role in their online presence including managing several website channels and digital communications working closely with the Communications Manager and Head of Communications.

A key responsibility of this role is to develop and manage creative content for a state-of-the-art website and other key communications products to advance sustainable hydropower and help deliver the energy transition.

Other duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Raising the image of sustainable hydropower through online communication of the potential of sustainable hydropower.
  • Leading the design and production of digital communications, products and services.
  • Providing support and guidance to their Membership, Sustainability, and Research and Policy teams.
  • Communicating the teams’ activities, events and services in order to attract new members.
  • Contributing to the forthcoming redevelopment of their websites.
  • Managing website content using content management systems.
  • Leading the development and growth of their new online membership community and mobile app.
  • Acting as the brand champion, creating visually appealing and engaging graphic content for digital marketing and publications. 
  • Designing and managing email marketing and sending out newsletters and social media campaigns.
  • Working with suppliers to produce advertisements, event banners and infographics.
  • Analysing and reporting the impact of our communications using Google Analytics and email data reports.
  • Managing contacts data using Customer Relationship Management software.

Essential skills required:

  • Considerable experience with designing and developing websites including content management systems.
  • Practical knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Experience in designing visibly appealing and consistent content whilst managing social media platforms such as LinkedIn and Twitter.
  • Copy writing and editing abilities.
  • Adaptable with the ability to meet competing deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with an aptitude for working independently and within a team.
  • Degree in Marketing or Visual Arts is desirable
  • Experience using video editing software would be advantageous
  • Additional language skills would be beneficial
