Modern Slavery Engagement Officer

Black Country Women's Aid (BCWA) is a progressive charity that specializes in supporting victims of abuse.

Our services include support for both adult and child victims of domestic abuse, stalking, sexual violence, exploitation and modern slavery, as well as women in the criminal justice system.


We offer sensitive and holistic support services which help victims escape from violence, cope with trauma and rebuild their lives.

We place victims' voices at the heart of our work and develop our services in response to need, working with an extensive range of partner organizations to help victims get the right support.

BCWA services span across the Black Country including Sandwell, Dudley, Wolverhampton and Walsall, with some services covering Birmingham and the wider West Midlands.


We are looking for exceptional candidates to join our growing and successful organisation.


Job title: Modern Slavery Engagement Officer
Positions Available: 1 part time position available.

22.5 hours - flexible across weekdays, evenings and weekends
Contract length: 12 months
Salary: £12,509

Black Country Women's Aid (BCWA)'s Modern Slavery Services provide accommodation and community support to victims of modern day slavery and human trafficking across the West Midlands.

Our Modern Slavery Engagement activity works with police, agency partners and communities to improve the identification of and response to victims of modern slavery who are sexually exploited.


The Engagement Officer will support potential victims and victims to assess their needs, inform them of their rights and entitlements, and work with first responding agencies to access the National Referral Mechanism where appropriate.

Where necessary the officer will provide more long-term support and/or casework to victims.


The role will also include extensive partnership work with other agencies, to improve intelligence gathering, engage victims and access support for them, and develop prevention initiatives.
