Part Time Litigation Solicitor/Paralegal

You will be someone with a positive attitude, confidence, appropriate legal knowledge, and competence.

There are a small percentage of non-paying clients that need to pursueing, as well as broader requirements for day-to-day commercial legal advice.

Our client also wants to introduce better credit control processes and improve thir approach to client dispute management.



Small Claims Litigation 

This is a flexible part-time job working as a paralegal/legal assistant on various projects.

Your areas of work will vary, but will include litigation and commercial disputes.

A strong background in contract law is therefore crucial.

Your work may also involve legal secretarial and assistant tasks.

You will be responsible for handling small claims, such as non-payment.

Your duties will be to manage cases from start to finish, including official filings, drafting letters and other documents, and obtaining any relevant information required, as well as general research, advice, and standard file-handling duties.

You will be responsible for balancing your schedule, and reporting hours worked. 

You will be working closely with the Managing Director, and should be able to accurately take briefing notes, carry out the necessary work, and report back accurately.

You should be someone who is passionate and knowledgeable about their work, and good communication skills are key. 

Due to this being a remote role, you will need to be self-motivated and organised.

Knowledge of Google Docs and online collaborative working is desired.

Primarily based from home, this role may require occasional travel. 

This role has the potential to grow with the business and cover all areas of business legal matters, although commercial disputes are the primary focus. 

Skills and experience required

• A background in commercial contract law
• Experience of working in litigation and knowledge of the associated legal processes, procedures, and requirements
• Excellent interpersonal skills, a collegiate approach, and an ability to form strong relationships with colleagues and clients alike
• An ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple on-going tasks
• A self-starter, motivated to take on new challenges and be capable of working to deadlines
• A positive “can-do” attitude
• Strong communication skills, a flexible approach, and a willingness and desire to accelerate your career through a varied, complex, and high-value case load
• Ability to be firm but remain friendly, and always professional

You will need to have knowledge of:
• Commercial contract law
• Commercial disputes and claims
• General litigation for businesses
• Credit control procedures
• Intellectual property and copyright
