Electrical Technician Engineer

An exciting opportunity for an individual to join the company specialising in Industrial Ventilation and Air Pollution Control / monitoring systems.

Applicants should have an Engineering Qualification and relevant experience in control panel & industrial wiring & ideally testing.

It will require you to be; a good communicator, enthusiastic, professional & to have integrity, customer focus, a flexible approach and be able to work autonomously as well as leading & be a valued team player.

Our client is looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual, with a flexible approach, who can work independently as well as part of a team.

Although you may not necessarily have the relevant experience at this stage you will have the potential to develop into the role; hence they are offering a wide salary scale.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

On Site Field Wiring:


  • On-site electrical installation & wiring, following appropriate wiring schematics & procedures, including: cables & support systems, running cables, installation of control panels, wiring of control panels, motors, valves, sensors and associated equipment, labelling of cables & identification of components as required
  • Pre-power up & input / output (I/O) checks
  • Note assistance with mechanical installation work may well be required
  • Assist with electrical specification, project management & electrical control panel design as required
  • Attend customer call outs which may involve both mechanical & electrical issues & repair / co-ordinate as required
  • Promote the products and services offered by the company to the customer, where appropriate
  • Further your own education/Training, relevant to the Company’s main activities, including attending seminars, lectures, exhibitions etc.

  • Other reasonable tasks as required by the job / your line manager.

Control panel builds:


  • Follow panel layout schematics, wiring diagrams & relevant standards / procedures; including: mechanical assembly of components, identification & labelling and soldering of components onto PCB’s (training can be provided)
  • Manage stock of electrical wiring consumables
  • Pre-power up continuity testing
  • Provide assistance to Project Engineer with Factory Acceptance Testing of control panels & systems.
  • Provide feedback of any modifications / changes required and update relevant documentation as required

Note: The position will require travel, generally covering the South of England and will require occasional nights away from home.

A full driving license is therefore essential and company vehicles are available for all site works.

Working at height and moderate lifting may also be necessary for some duties.

Key Experience/Qualifications:

Essential:


  • Relevant qualification & experience: Engineering Apprenticeship, BTEC
  • Good attention to detail, communication, listening, and interpersonal skills
  • Good time management skills, ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Able to carry out all work safely, and in accordance with all agreed policies, procedures, legislation and guidance
  • Computer literate
  • Have a ‘can-do’ attitude and flexible approach

Desired:


  • Electrical drawing experience
  • Basic Electrical Fault finding skills / understanding
  • Be able to provide assistance to Electrical Engineer with electrical testing & commissioning to BS7671 & 18th Edition wiring regs

Salary and Benefits:      


  • £24k – 34k (depending on experience) + overtime + Pension, on-site expenses; lunches / meals (T&C apply), all travel costs, company vehicle (site work) & tools supplied
