Office Manager

Our client is a building company that is well established and fast growing.

They cater for the domestic market across Hertfordshire with projects including loft conversions, extensions and refurbishments.

Due to expansion they are now looking for an experienced Office Manager who has preferably worked within a construction or trades environment, on a part time basis, to support the Managing Director.

The role may become full time, as the business grows and its needs change.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who would be energized by working in an environment where they can use their skills and experience to create systems and processes from a blank canvas, in order to enable growth. 

Due to the location of the office, the candidate would need their own transport.

Free parking is available on site.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • To provide general administrative support
  • To create and implement efficient working practices and systems
  • Financial administration including invoice generation and reconciliation of Xero
  • Chasing any outstanding payments
  • To act as the first point of contact for all customer enquiries
  • Ensuring the project management system is updated by all those in the field
  • Sending out estimates and quotations to prospective clients
  • Diary management
  • Posting relevant updates on social media on a daily basis

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Office management experience, ideally within trades or construction
  • Experience of accounting software, ideally Xero
  • Competence with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to prioritise and plan own workload
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent organisational skills

What is on offer:

  • Basic salary of £28-30k pro-rata
  • 20 days holiday per annum + 8 days Bank Holiday pro-rata
  • Pension
