Full Stack Developer

Our client is looking for a Full Stack Developer to join their team based in Reading. 

About the Role

This position reports to the Software Development Director, and you will work closely with other members of the software development, test and support teams.

The Development team provides the core software development services to their clients, and the development of their own products.

The Full Stack Developer position requires a strong work ethic and a good understanding of software development methods and practices both agile and waterfall for designing, coding, testing, peer review, documenting and debugging of a variety of systems.

Being able to work as part of a team is essential as well as a willingness to undertake Microsoft Certifications.

Qualifications:


  • Degree or equivalent in Software Engineering or Computer science
  • At least 3 years’ experience in developing software in the Microsoft Stack
  • You must have a working knowledge of current software development pattern and practices, web development concepts, and be able to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills and good levels of numeracy

Core Skills:


  • Angular 6+/TypeScript at least 2 years’ experience 
  • Angular Materials + FlexBox
  • HTML, CSS, jQuery
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft SQL / TSQL and developing stored procedures
  • Good knowledge of software design patterns and development processes, CI/CD and SOLID principles
  • Unit testing

Ideally Experience with any of the following:


  • C#, dotnet core, Dapper micro ORM
  • Experience with TSQLT testing framework
  • MS tests, XUnit, Specflow
  • Azure pipeline development 
  • Microservices
  • WEB.API design and development

Key Responsibilities:


  • Produce quality software fit for purpose in a timely and cost-effective manner to specification.

    Familiarity with security by design, OWASP and Microsoft SDL
  • Ability to work remotely when required, and deliver results with minimum supervision
  • Have a good understanding of current Microsoft software development technologies and keep up-to-date with the changes and advances is development technologies and practices
  • Assist in troubleshooting software application issues
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and identify modifications needed in existing applications to meet changing user requirements
  • Participate in Agile and Waterfall development methodologies with regular SCRUM’s and sprints
  • Assist in the creation of the system design and functional specifications for all new development projects
  • Technical experience with databases, Web development, Client server application development and user support
  • Experience in the development and implementation of standards, procedures and guidelines to support operational processes
  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities
  • Ability to be flexible and work hard, both independently and in a team environment, in a high pressure on-call environment with changing priorities
  • Work towards obtaining Microsoft Certifications
