A leading solutions provider is looking for a talented Test Manager to join their team in Oxford, who develop high performance software and hardware products for the Life Science, Entertainment and Engineering industries.  You will report directly to the Chief Technology Officer and take the lead in the testing of the highly complex systems they continue to develop, using a range of manual and automated approaches.

You will manage a team of test engineers performing functional and non-functional manual testing, and coordinate the participation of other departments in test activities.

You will also be responsible for developing best testing practices, by advocating new methods and tools throughout development departments.
Key Responsibilities

- Work closely with the Development, Product Management, and Support teams to ensure software and hardware products are tested such that their release quality meets high standards

- Manage the daily running of the Test Department, including oversight of testing taking place throughout development departments

- Draw together test activities across development departments to drive prioritisation of all test efforts

- Maintain a high level of product expertise to support in-depth cost/benefit analysis of testing efforts
- Responsibility for defining test requirements including manual, automated and integration tests, with an in-depth understanding of their importance in maximising product quality given finite resources

Key Requirements

- Strong experience as a test manager with a background in software / hardware development

- Current hands-on testing experience across manual and automation testing

- BSc required (graduate degree preferred) in Computer Science, Physical Sciences, Engineering or another directly related field
- ISTQB Certified

Desirable Skills

- Familiarity with iterative software development processes and defect tracking software tools such as JIRA or TestRail

- Familiarity with networking technologies and programming languages such as C++ and python
