Electrical Engineer

An exciting opportunity for an individual to join the company specialising in Industrial Ventilation and Air Pollution Control / monitoring systems.

Applicants should have electrical installation experience ideally in industrial, however domestic and commercial would be welcomed.

Relevant experience wiring, testing, fault finding, panel building and interpreting schematics needed. 

It will require you to be; a good communicator, enthusiastic, professional & to have integrity, customer focus, a flexible approach and be able to work autonomously as well as leading & be a valued team player.

Although you may not necessarily have the relevant experience at this stage you will have the potential to develop into the role; hence they are offering a wide salary scale.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

Electrical Installation Activities:

The successful applicant must demonstrate the following skills and aptitudes, or have the ability to develop them with support & training:

On site Electrical Installation:

  • On-site electrical installation & wiring, following appropriate wiring schematics & procedures, including: Cables & support systems, Running cables, Installation of control panels, Termination of control panels, motors, valves, sensors and associated equipment, Labelling of cables & identification of components as required
  • Provide assistance to Electrical Engineer with electrical testing & commissioning to BS7671 18th Edition & wiring regs
  • Attend customer call outs which may involve both mechanical & electrical issues & repair / co-ordinate as required
  • Assist with electrical project specification
  • Other reasonable tasks as required by the job / your line manager

Workshop Panel Building and Wiring:

  • Reading and interpreting electrical schematics
  • Building, wiring and testing of electrical control panels

Development Opportunities:

  • Electrical controls
  • AutoCAD electrical drawing
  • Potential other training options for skill development and on going progression

Skills and Abilities: 


  • Relevant qualification & experience: Electrical, BTEC, City & Guilds, NVQ Apprenticeship
  • Site visits and travel
  • Ability to fault find
  • Good attention to detail, communication, listening, and interpersonal skills
  • Good time management skills, ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Able to carry out all work safely, and in accordance with all agreed policies, procedures, legislation and guidance
  • Computer literate
  • Have a ‘can-do’ attitude and flexible approach

Note: The position will require travel, generally covering the South of England and will require occasional nights away from home.

A full driving license is therefore essential and company vehicles are available for all site works.

Working at height and moderate lifting may also be necessary for some duties.

Salary & Benefits:

  • 24 – 34K (depending on experience) + overtime + Pension, on-site expenses; lunches / meals (T&C apply), all travel costs, company vehicle (site work) & tools supplied
