About the Company

The company develops sustainable low carbon horticulture projects and works closely with a sister company that develops low carbon energy projects.

Together the two businesses work to develop holistic circular economy solutions that span sectors, industries and demographics.

They are at the forefront of the urban farming movement in the UK, and this role will be an exciting opportunity for the right person to join their growing and dynamic team, building new industries and circular economies throughout the UK and beyond.

About the Role

The company is looking for a trainee consultant with a flexible, practical, and ‘can-do’ attitude and excellent organisational, people and communication skills.

Because both companies are small and growing, and so the work will be incredibly varied, and the new candidate will have to be flexible and able to swim when metaphorically thrown in the deep end! The candidate must be up for a challenge.

The company needs a front facing person, able to speak and write confidently about what the company does and why.

They are looking for someone who can support the Director in the front facing tasks, as well as supporting the senior engineers and consultants in the team with project development and reporting. 

You will get to develop your knowledge in low carbon energy, horticulture and commercial delivery models for both.

  • Ability to use Microsoft 365 applications including Microsoft Word Excel Power Point Outlook and Sharepoint
  • Understanding of business planning, cost benefit analysis principles
  • An open mind and an ability to solve problems
  • Ability to develop and maintain client and colleague relationships
  • Ability to work independently

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with CAD or equivalent
  • Familiarity with GIS software
  • Horticultural enthusiasm

Working arrangements

The company supports flexible working.

This position is home based, so you can live remotely,
but you would need to be able to travel to Sheffield where the business is based, and to site visits when required.
