Accounts Assistant

Reporting to the Finance Manager a part-time opportunity of 14 hours per week has arisen for an Accounts Assistant to join the busy finance team of an ecommerce company operating in the FMCG sector selling via the internet to customers around the world.

Initially home based due to COVID19, the role will be office based when restrictions allow.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:


  • Posting purchase invoices onto Sage 50 Accounts
  • Entering bank receipts and payments as required
  • Completing monthly bank reconciliations on Sage 50 Accounts
  • Resolving any issues arising from the bank reconciliations
  • Customer invoicing
  • Performing supplier payment runs
  • Working closely with other members of the finance team regarding work flows and deadlines to ensure that tasks are completed in a timely manner
  • Excellent record keeping, both paper and electronic
  • Ad hoc book-keeping tasks

Skills Required:


  • Sage experience is a requirement
  • Studying towards or achieved AAT Level 2 Accounting or equivalent
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Good Excel skills required.

    Experience of analysing large quantities of data and ability to use VLOOKUPs and Pivot tables advantageous
  • Numerate with exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Desire to develop and extend existing skills and knowledge
