Laboratory Supervisor

Due to an exciting new start-up operation, the company is looking to recruit a Laboratory Supervisor to lead a team of dynamic laboratory technicians.

About the Role

The Laboratory Supervisor will provide day to day supervision of the laboratory and to be the company’s focal point with the client for the laboratory operation.

They will plan and co-ordinate all laboratory activities on a daily basis, to ensure client requirements and all operational targets are met in the most cost-effective manner, consistent with safe operating practices and the requirements of the management system.  Provision of leadership will be required for laboratory employees in all aspects of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality, and meet requirements of relevant accreditations (ISO 9001/17025/14001/OHSA18001 etc.).

The Laboratory Supervisor will be based within Saltend Chemicals Park and the laboratory operation will run 24-7, 365 days per year.

The Supervisor will predominantly work 37.5 hours per week within office hours but some cover out of hours and on weekends will be required and expected.

The position is based upon an initial 12-month contract.

About You:


  • Prior supervisory experience within a laboratory
  • Educated to Higher Education Level (or equivalent) in a relevant scientific area or a demonstratable background and experience may be an acceptable substitute
  • Knowledge of relevant laboratory operations/standards
  • Knowledge of relevant Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental standards
  • Experience of working under pressure whilst remaining professional
