Domestic Abuse Advocate (Maternity cover)

Black Country Women's Aid (BCWA) is an established charity working across the Black Country and wider West Midlands providing accommodation and community support services to victims of domestic abuse, sexual abuse, and human trafficking.


Services range from advocacy, civil remedies, support in court, individual and group support, and access to a range of therapeutic interventions.

All services are client and needs led.


We are looking for exceptional candidates to join our growing and successful organisation within our Domestic Abuse Team.


Job Title: Domestic Abuse Advocate
Positions available: 1 full-time position/37.5 hours
Length of contract: 6 months maternity cover
Starting Salary: £19,968
Closing Date: 18th June 2021

We are looking for a Domestic Abuse Advocate to join the Domestic Abuse team based in Sandwell to cover a 6-month maternity position.


We are looking for someone who has experience of working with victims/survivors of domestic abuse on both one to one and in group work settings.

You will carry a caseload which includes all aspects of case management including, risk assessment, needs assessment, support planning, outcomes, and case review.


You will be required to provide a high-quality frontline service to victims of domestic abuse, delivering a service to those at the highest risk.

You will be working within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse.


BCWA has adapted services during COVID to support victims of violence and abuse that meet all the latest Government guidance.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is available at all our sites and distributed to all staff as appropriate.

You will receive appropriate training to undertake the duties of the job on and on and offsite basis and all situations are risk assessed.

Management supervision, support, and oversight is embedded in our practice to ensure all parties are kept safe.
