We're looking for an HR Business Partner, on a fixed term until March 2022.

The role is responsible for providing a proactive, solutions-focused HR service to leaders, people managers and employees, on all employment-related matters across the entire employee lifecycle.

You will act as a senior point of contact for leadership teams and external stakeholders, and lead on various initiatives to achieve the strategic aims of the HR and OD agenda.

What will you be doing?

, Build great business partner relationships with leadership teams and key stakeholders
, Provide sound, consistent, solutions-focused advice and guidance to leadership teams, managers and employees on all employment related matters
, Drive and support the delivery of HR/OD initiatives in line with the WMCA's People Strategy
, Work with the Head of HR to ensure HR services, policies and processes are aligned to business need
, Lead on proactively managing workforce planning and vacancy management for your within your directorate
, Proactively use people management data to inform better decision making
, Champion business change and continuous improvement
, Contribute to the development, delivery and promotion of a programme of wellbeing events and activities
, In conjunction with the Recruitment Partner, advise and oversee the senior and executive recruitment and selection process within your directorate
, Get involved with shaping, informing and developing people strategies which address immediate and long-term key business issues

About you

Qualified to at least Level 5 (CIPD) or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant field, you'll evidence continuous professional development and have a flexible, consultative and solutions-focused approach.

You'll be able to demonstrable experience of working within a Human Resources environment at a senior level and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a high level of tact, discretion and diplomacy.

Strong stakeholder engagement and management skills, with the ability to influence effectively, build constructive working relationships and project credibility, are needed as is a proven track record of delivery in a high-pressure environment.

You'll be able to exercise effective judgement, have good problem solving and analytical skills and be experienced in conflict resolution.

Our Finance & Business Hub provides essential high-quality, responsive, and agile enabling services to the West Midlands Combined Authority and its directorates in areas such as human resources, procurement, commercial investments, assurance and appraisal, financial control and administration, and financial and business planning and performance reporting.
