The ideal candidate will...


  • Be able to work under pressure and multitask as a receptionist/ Optical advisor
  • Be positive and supportive towards clients, patients and other team members
  • Be comfortable speaking to clients on the phone to book them in for appointments
  • Be confident to sell over the phone and face to face
  • Flexible and willing to adapt on the spot
  • Be organised and efficient
  • Be willing to learn on the job
  • Be able to carry out administration tasks, paperwork & invoice reconciliation
  • Be comfortable using computers and learn how to use customer management systems

The job involves...


  • Technical work: Dispensing, measuring and fitting glasses, collections, customer advisory
  • Administration: NHS paperwork, stock management, tidying the store daily,
  • Sales: selling glasses, lenses, patient follow-up calls, etc

This role will begin with 2.5 full days a week plus some overtime during busy periods.

The role will then increase to 3.5-4 days a week from October 2021 when a current staff member will retire

Part-time hours initially: 20 per week, which will increase to 34 hours in October 2021

COVID-19 considerations:

All patients are carefully triaged on the phone and expected to sanitize their hands and wear face masks on arrival.

Staff must wear full PPE during work.

Locked door policy/ social distancing measures in place at all times for everyone's safety.
