Health and Safety Support Manager

Palletways are looking to appoint a Member Health and Safety Support Manager to join the UK SHEQ Team reporting jointly to the UK SHEQ Manager and the General Manager, Hub Operations.

Although based at Fradley the job will involve extensive travel throughout the UK with occasional night working according to business demands.

Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to: visiting all UK member sites, as necessary, providing professional health and safety advice to Palletways member businesses and promoting and encouraging safe working practices and behaviours.

Additionally the role incumbent will be required to deliver training, complete regular SHEQ audits, carry out risk assessments, report hazards and near-misses and complete accident investigations as well as provide support to the SHEQ Manager in the maintenance of the Company’s respective ISO 9001 Quality, ISO 14001 Environmental accreditation and ISO 45001

Candidates will need to demonstrate practical experience of improving health and safety in the workplace and will hold a NEBOSH General Certificate (or working towards) in Occupational Safety and Health

Strong communication skills at all levels of the business are required and the confidence / capability to deliver safety training are pre-requisites along with proven problem solving skills and the ability to identify and deliver operational improvements.

The possession of IT skills, including experience of using MS Office, Excel and PowerPoint is a fundamental requirement of the role.
