Business Development Manager

Due to their continued growth, Pure Utilities is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join their Management Team, to help drive the Company through the next exciting phase of expansion.

This newly-created position is a great opportunity for the right person to grow and develop with the Company.

As the Business Development Manager, you will be tasked with improving customer acquisition and retention, building on the thousands of customers.

To continue this, they’re looking for someone to join a relaxed and friendly office to help with the increasing demand and to seek out other opportunities to grow the customer base.

What they do

Pure Utilities is a Licensed Provider of water and waste-water services to business customers in Scotland, with a straightforward, transparent and above all else, ethical approach, has seen customer and employee base continually increase.

Main Duties:

  • Oversee the Company’s business development function
  • Provide regular reports and demonstrate understanding through periodic analysis
  • Service large and key business customers, including Contract negotiations
  • Develop, deliver and manage the wider business development strategy
  • Business Development Team Line Manager duties
  • Ensure compliance with appropriate Company Policies and Procedures
  • Monitor new business opportunities and ensure profitability
  • Take and make customer calls, where appropriate
  • Promote and positively contribute to the Company’s values and culture
  • Work with the Finance Team to resolve delinquent accounts, where appropriate
  • Other ad-hoc office and administration tasks, as required.

Key Requirements:

  • An ethical approach to all aspects of business
  • Management experience and extensive success within a similar role
  • First Class communication skills, both written and verbal, with the personality and drive to develop customer relationships and negotiate effective resolutions
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Dedication to engage effectively with other teams, to ensure business needs are met and to collectively contribute towards wider Company objectives
  • Supporting the team to succeed through effective Leadership
  • Solid experience in the use of Microsoft Office (particularly Excel, Word & Outlook).

Whilst commercial qualifications, a relevant Degree or utility industry experience may be beneficial in this role, none are deemed essential.

  • Base starting salary between £24,000 and £28,000 pa (DOE)
