I am delighted to be supporting a key client of mine in their search of an experienced Pipefitter.

My client is an established Building Services contactor supporting well-known Tier 1 and Regional main contractors.

As a Pipefitter, your main focus will be in installation and maintenance of commercial and industrial piping systems.

As such, your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Receive instructions, configure pipe system blueprints and plan piping systems layouts.

  • Liaise with the site management regarding supplies, ordering and delivery

  • Ensure all steam, water, chemicals, or other liquids are turned off before working on a piping system.

  • Start up and shut down equipment in line with company safety procedures

  • Precisely cut, bend, thread, weld or crimping of metals such as carbon steel and stainless steel

  • Soldering, brazing, compressing or crimping of copper pipework

  • Day to day liaison with the site supervision staff

  • Comply with all EHSQ policies and procedures as required

  • Install piping or tubing securely by an agreed/approved method

  • Consult with the site management for hole positions in walls and bulkheads

  • Secure pipes to the building structure in an approved manner

  • Testing and commissioning of pipe systems

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Recognised qualification in Pipefitting / Welding - City & Guilds, NVQ

  • CSCS Card

  • Abrasive Wheel

  • IPAF Certificates

  • Gas Safe Certificate

Package & Benefits:

  • Competitive hourly rate

  • Overtime paid at 1.4 of basic rate

  • £2.50 p/d lodging allowance on top of basic rate of pay

Ideally, my client is seeking someone based within a commutable distance from their offices in Birmingham.

However, candidates must be happy to lodge away as required.
