Head of Sales & Marketing 

Hours: Monday to Friday 08.30 to 17.00 (slightly flexible)  

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 + Commission  

Location: Ongar, Essex  

OTE: £70,000 upwards

Office ratio: Approximately 75% office & 25% offsite meetings  

Our client, United Drains are a successful drainage company, with a head office based in Essex and are looking for someone to head up Sales & Marketing. The goal is to drive sustainable financial growth through developing new clients and forming strong long-lasting relationships with clients to support the overall future expansion of the business. 

They are a combined plumbing & drainage company that specialise in the commercial sector.

Area’s they cover are approximately 100 miles radius of London but are looking to expand this. The candidate must have proven track record in sales, experience within the drainage sector or similar service would be an advantage. 

They are looking for an experienced, passionate, driven & ambitious person looking for a long-term career.  

Sales Responsibilities: 

  • Develop new business – Targeting potential clients and making contact to relevant person
  • Make cold calls which would be a prominent feature at the outset of the position
  • To maintain regular contact with new clients within your portfolio
  • Management of the CRM database
  • Log all activities in a timely manner on company’s CRM system
  • Fill in all new account forms for potential clients and giving them all the information, they require (Can be time consuming)  
  • Attend sales meetings as and when required  
  • Attend seminars, exhibitions, and entertaining clients as and when required 
  • Oversee and manage BDM’s 
  • Work closely with the existing sales and operations team

Marketing Responsibilities:  

  • Maintain effective internal communications to ensure that all relevant company functions are kept informed of marketing objectives
  • Overseeing the company’s marketing budget
  • Creation and publication of all marketing material in line with marketing plans. 
  • Manage all social media platforms (daily post) 
  • Plan and implement promotional campaigns. 
  • Manage marketing literature.  
  • Planning the overall Company marketing strategy 
  • Email campaigns  

Essential Requirements: 

  • Proven track record in a B2B sales role ideally in the plumbing, drainage, or construction industry sales environment but not essential 
  • Proven track record in a Marketing
  • Excellent communicator at all levels and the functions of the business 
  • Self-managed and motivated 
  • Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy 
  • Excellent written, oral and presentation skills are essential 
  • Good level of PC literacy and Microsoft Office and online portals
  • Able to create and deliver email campaigns  
  • Maintain strict confidentiality 
  • Excellent references 
  • A full driving Licence  
  • Proven track records within a similar position 
  • A good head for business 
  • Strong organisational skills 
  • Team-working skills 
  • The ability to delegate and motivate others
