Accounts Assistant


Are you an Accounts Assistant with experience in Payroll and VAT?  Do you have exellent communication skills, both written and verbal?

Our client is an Accountancy firm based in Beckeneham and they currently have an exciting opportunity for a Part-Time Accounts Assistant to join their friendly team, initially working 21 hours per week.

The Accounts Assistant we are looking for will provide great customer service in a warm, professional manner with all clients.

This is a varied role with a company who offer ongoing, hands on training and flexible working within a welcoming open plan office environment.

The role will include maintaining payroll, VAT and some bookkeeping duties for a number of clients across a wide selection of businesses.

In addition, the post holder will be required to provide some administrative support to the practice and help it grow into an efficient and well managed office.

The office is developing rapidly so the company will need someone can be flexible as it may be necessary to assist other staff members from time to time.

Key responsibilities...


  • Managing client payrolls
  • Manage client VAT return
  • VAT registrations
  • Payroll registrations
  • Carry out auto-enrolment duties (NEST pension)
  • Book-keeping
  • Dealing with walk-in, telephone and email enquiries
  • Creating and maintaining filing systems
  • Communicate and liaise verbally and in writing between clients/visitors/enquirers and staff stablish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and the general public

Key skills & Experience...



  • Minimum of 12 months experience in accountancy ideally some payroll and VAT experience
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable with IT software including Excel, Word and Quickbooks
  • Part qualified or studying towards a recognised qualification would be helpful
  • Experience using BrightPay would be an advantage
