Where you’ll be working
You will be working within a Health Service with a strong network of public hospitals located across rural and remote Western Australia.

You will be working at a 190-bed hospital that functions as a regional source centre, or a nearby 84-bed hospital offering specialised, multidisciplinary and culturally safe assessment, treatment and support.

The larger hospital includes a 30-bed acute psychiatric unit for inpatient mental health services.

The hospital also has a Mental Health SUSD program that offers 24/7 support in a community setting, and a 30-bed modular ward for low acuity patients. 

As Consultant Psychiatrist, you will contribute to the provision of clinical excellence and high-quality, patient-centred care on a broad spectrum of cases, including Aboriginal  mental health care, crisis care, various community outreach programs, and ongoing case management.

You will be supported by a dynamic and expanding team of specialists, registrars, junior doctors and mental health nurses.

You will promote a collaborative model of care, and will have the opportunity to contribute to the supervision, training and education of junior doctors.

You will be living in an enviable location on the coast of Western Australia.

Salary information
Consultant Psychiatrists can expect a competitive salary in line with the WA Award, plus a range of benefits and incentives. 

Requirements  
Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP), or equivalent.

Psychiatrists eligible for the fast-track registration pathway are encouraged to apply.
