Microbiology Laboratory Technician

My client is a specialist facility performing cutting edge research in to next generation bio fuels, and due to the success and expansion of a number of projects they are looking to take on another microbiologist to support their team.
My client is a specialist facility performing cutting edge research in to next generation bio fuels, and due to the success and expansion of a number of projects they are looking to take on another microbiologist to support their team.

Job Purpose:
To provide practical and technical support to the laboratory team by:
- Performing standard and non-standard microbiological tests,
- Preparing media and reagents to help support the analytical team,
- Culturing and microbial identifications.

At present the hours are 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday to Friday, though my client is currently reviewing the possibility of implementing an early and late shift pattern.

There is also a possibility of weekend work by mutual consent.

Essential Qualifications/Experience:
At least a BSc in Microbiology or related subject,
Proven commercial, industrial or research laboratory experience,
Excellent communication skills,
Excellent team-working skills.
