Development Engineer

Development Engineer.

c£25K-£40K plus benefits.

 The in this position will design, develop tests and perform tests, write test reports and analyse and present results associated with the development of a low cost common diesel pump for the automotive market based on a current design.

They will be involved in the conceptual phase.

The position will require balanced decision making and good analytical skills.

They must be able to work other members of the cross-functional project team responsible for overall pump competitive success.

Candidate Requirements: 

 • Engineering degree in mechanical engineering, or equivalent – Required
• Development engineering experience to a standard of independent responsibility – Required
• Must be innovative and visionary in developing design options.

- Required
• Ability to travel to manufacturing sites (France, Spain, and Romania).

- Required 
• Experience with diesel engines & full cycle engineering design projects.- Required 
• Effective project leadership and analytical skills – Required
• Ability to develop and present technical presentations to customers and others.

- Required.
• Personal strengths should include: Confidence, self-directed, customer
• focused, with good team interaction skills, creative and results driven.- Required
• Previous experience/training in 6 Sigma would be an advantage – Preferred
• Experience of applying Shainin or similar problem solving techniques.

• DOE and statistical analysis knowledge.

• HP Pump and or fuel systems experience.
