My client are specialises in design, manufacture, repair and supply of lifting equipment that have been within the industry for over 50 years.
They are currently seeking a Design Engineer that will work alongside their engineering manager and engineering sales team to help design, calculate and oversee the build of a wide variety of lifting and handling equipment.
Job Description:
The role will involve:
• Designing and calculating stresses of lifting and handling equipment
• Estimating costs
• Liaising with suppliers and purchasing materials
• Visiting clients with sales engineers to help develop a solution
• Following quality documentation procedures
• Liaising with production to ensure delivery times are on schedule
• Responsibility for technical delivery of designs, checking and approval of drawings - working together with our Engineering Manager
Experience Required:
It will require:
• An ability to problem solve, evaluate and optimise designs
• 3D modelling and CAD experience in Solid works including static simulation/FEA.
This is essential.
• An ability to work individually and as part of a collaborative team
• Strong commercial awareness
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Driving Licence preferred
We are looking for an enthusiastic person willing to learn in what will be a very hands-on role in a small but expanding department.

Qualifications:
Degree preferred
Solidworks passport training (ideally including simulation) and at least 2 years practical experience in a commercial environment.
