Job Title:

Quality Assurance Manager


Overall Purpose:

To provide clear leadership of the Quality function in support of the bakeries objectives.
As a manager within the bakery you are expected to meet all bakery KPI's through a process of leading, coaching, mentoring and challenging as well as actively support and deliver change oriented activities and projects.


Role Functionality:


Actively promotes and delivers improved health and safety behaviours and environmental awareness
Has detailed knowledge of bakery systems, processes and procedures
Recognised as an expert in all technical areas
Can demonstrate tangible and sustained KPI improvement under the five bakery pillars
Actively encourages, organises and applies best available techniques in the departments operation
Delivers quality and accuracy in own and teams work.
Ensures all areas operate to the correct working standards and ensures that all up and coming legislative and retailer led systems are implemented
Has a broader view of effective resource planning looking further than day to day and builds effective contingency plans and adopts a clear strategic approach the technical support function
Able to cope under pressure and flex with peaks in personal workload as well as support team members in delivering their objectives
Works to develop a strategic succession plan for the department
Able to use, create, understand and act upon trends from management operating systems
Able to anticipate/identify problems and own them through to conclusion
To lead Quality Assurance, Technical Compliance, Hygiene and Packaging Compliance initiatives within the business.
Able to act on decisions with the required amount of urgency
Has a wider knowledge of the external factors affecting the business and their implications and incorporate appropriate action plans drawn from these

Experience Required:

Degree/HND or equivalent in food related subject such as Food Technology Food science.
Previous Technical experience of FMCG food related manufacturing operations.
Proven track record of managing a team and diverse technical activities.
Proven track record in health & safety and management of quality systems
Proven track record in microbiological and hygiene based management programmes
Ability to interact with high profile customers
Knowledge of understanding of PPC and environmental management systems.
Lead Assessor Audit qualified

Training Required:

Advanced Food Hygiene
Microbiological awareness to an advanced level
