PMO Manager / Lead – You will be responsible for providing governance, reporting, standards, methodologies, project administration costs, finance, planning and assurance functions to the Change Portfolio Director and team.
You will manage, supervise and plans utilisation of a number of project planners and co-ordinators to provide the above.
Key Responsibilities:
• Is accountable for the performance and results of a PMO team or teams within one of the Change Portfolio.
• Establish, resource and manage PMO's within the Portfolio as required.
• Ensure the quality and robustness of Programme/Project Plans, Dependencies, RAID logs, Programme/Project Financials and Reporting.
• Compile status reports for senior management including progress against programme plan, top risks & issues and Programme Change Request's
• Draft regular reports, such as Steering Committee Packs and 8 Essentials report, and ad hoc reports as required, for the Change Portfolio Director or delegate.
• Establish the Programme's PMO processes for resourcing, budgeting and finance in accordance with guidance from the PMO.
• Ensure Programme Standards are set and documented on behalf of the Programme or Project Manager in accordance with guidance from the PMO.
• Support the Programme Induction process and prepare an Induction pack to include training requirements.
• Manage programme/project budget and resources in accordance with Finance guidelines.
• Assist Change Portfolio Director and Project Manager's with budget control and the estimation & realisation of benefits.
• Create and maintain a resource management process which enables movement of resources on, off and within the CP.
• Monitor recruitment and allocation of resources across the programme including resource outlook/forecast.
• Follow up information/updates directly with appropriate parties.
Escalate any issues to the appropriate parties.
• Assist in detecting and reporting trends and slippage.
• Distribute key communications on behalf of the Change Portfolio Director and delegates.
Experience Required:
• Demonstrable experience of project and programme support services
• In-depth knowledge of project and programme delivery methodologies
• Strong knowledge of the IT delivery lifecycle, associated methodologies and their practical application
• Excellent facilitation and presentation skills
• Excellent people management skills
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills
• Preferably Prince2, MSP qualified or equivalent
