As a visitor services assistant, you will be putting your excellent people skills to the best possible use.
You will be selling admission tickets and retail merchandise both on-site and online, promoting membership and gift aid - helping us to meet our targets, but most importantly you will be welcoming our visitors warmly.
The Museum is closed to our visitors in the evening but work continues in providing our customers with an excellent and popular brand of Tank Museum merchandise.
This is a busy and growing substantial part of our business.
Seeing our customer on the phone or with the same importance as our onsite customer is key going forward.
Experience in customer service and sales would be an advantage but more importantly, you'll love working with people of all ages, have bags of enthusiasm, and will always strive to make a good impression.
You will need to be practical and hands-on with excellent communication skills and to be comfortable working as part of a team.
Cash handling skills are also required.

Supporting Collections Assistant Manager Salary - £15,000 - 3 days per week (22.5hrs)Closing date: 6th March
The Tank Museum Archive is a Place of Deposit for The National Archives.
It is the UK's foremost research centre on the subject of armoured warfare and holds documents, photographs, technical drawings, maps, moving images, books and journals directly related to the Royal Armoured Corps and particularly the Royal Tank Regiment.
The Supporting Collection houses the Museum's object collection with the exception of vehicles.
It spans four stores and includes, among other items, uniforms, medals, flags, weapons, ammunition, models, art, radios and technical instruments.
The Archive & Supporting Collections team consists of 6 persons and manages and cares for both the Archive & Supporting Collection.
The Supporting Collections Assistant Manager will play an essential role in managing the Supporting Collection and collection database.
They will be a first point of contact for internal and external requests for use of Supporting Collection items.
The post-holder will play a critical role in preserving The Tank Museum collection and will be responsible for preventative conservation of the Supporting Collection and store management as well as advising other departments on display conditions and Supporting Collection use.
They are required to assist the Exhibitions, Research and Media teams with preparing and mounting items and advising on the suitability of items for display and filming.
They will be deputising for the Archive & Supporting Collections Manager in their absence including responsibility for buildings, managing the team and working with customers.
