Job Role: This particular role is based within Wallsall.

The Co-ordinator Review & Child Protection will:

• Ensure Local Authority provides quality social work and review services for children in need of protection or who are looked after
• Chair child protection conferences and reviews in accordance with relevant legislation and guidance
• Develop and review child protection and care plans to ensure good outcomes for children
• Provide consultation to the wider service and partner agencies on child protection and care planning
• Promote fair access to services and ensure services consider cultural and linguistic backgrounds of children and families
• Maintain health and safety standards and promote a positive public image of the Council's children's services
• Work within professional ethics and disciplines of social work
• Influence partner agencies to provide quality services and collaborate with them to ensure multi-agency assessment and planning
• Contribute to the development of practice frameworks and decision-making regarding budgets and resource allocation
• Ensure children and young people's voices are heard and considered in decision-making processes
• Provide guidance and support to social work staff and participate in service planning and review processes
• Conduct case audits and resolve issues where a child's needs are not met
• Ensure statutory requirements are met and contribute to data management and reporting
• Chair meetings effectively and make complex decisions regarding children's service provision
• Manage workload effectively and promote effective communication internally and externally
• Pursue personal and professional development to progress in career development
