Senior Estimator – Construction & Social Housing
Salary: £60,000 – £80,000 (DOE)
Location: Hertfordshire

We’re working with a leading contractor in the construction and social housing sector, who are looking to bring a talented Senior Estimator into their team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to step into a senior role with real influence over tenders, projects, and business growth.

The Role As a Senior Estimator, you’ll be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates across a range of social housing and construction projects.

You’ll play a key part in securing work and ensuring bids are commercially sound, while supporting junior estimators and contributing to the overall success of the business.

Key responsibilities include:

• Producing detailed cost plans and tender submissions.
  
  
• Managing the estimating process from initial enquiry through to final submission.
  
  
• Liaising with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.
  
  
• Providing value engineering options and cost advice.
  
  
• Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team.
  
  

• Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction/social housing sector.
  
  
• Strong technical knowledge of construction processes and materials.
  
  
• Excellent attention to detail with strong numerical and analytical skills.
  
  
• Confidence in managing multiple bids and deadlines.
  
  
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build lasting relationships.
