​M&E Project Manager

M&E Project Manager – Hard FM Provider – London / Kent / Portsmouth – Up to £75K + 20% Bonus

One of the UK’s most established building maintenance and facilities management providers is seeking an experienced M&E Project Manager to join their growing projects division.

This role involves managing building services projects across a portfolio of major retail shopping centres and large commercial environments located in London, Kent, and Portsmouth.

Typical project values will initially range from £50K to £800K, increasing up to £2M as the portfolio expands.

Projects will include plant replacements, building services refurbishments, and new installations within busy, live retail environments.

The successful candidate will join an established project management team and will be responsible for delivering projects from inception to completion, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, within budget, and to a high standard of quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Define project scope, produce cost estimates, and prepare technical specifications.
• Manage the quotation, tender, and contractor selection process.
• Oversee and coordinate the work of approved subcontractors.
• Chair and record project meetings and liaise closely with contract managers.
• Plan and deliver works to minimise disruption to retail operations and customer experience.
• Manage internal and external resources effectively to ensure successful delivery.
• Monitor progress and financial performance against project milestones.
• Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety and CDM Regulations.
• Maintain strong communication with all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

• Fully qualified in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering to a recognised industry standard.
• Strong technical understanding of building services and plant systems (HVAC, electrical distribution, BMS, etc.).
• Proven track record in managing engineering projects within live commercial or retail environments.
• Experience delivering plant replacement and refurbishment projects in complex, operational buildings.
• Excellent planning, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously within a dynamic environment.
• Fully conversant with the requirements of CDM Regulations and all associated Health & Safety standards.

• Salary up to £75,000
